It saves me energy and keeps the dizziness of dysautonomia at bay—a practical magic of my own.

...Living ME thrives on the voices of its contributors—but some of the most vibrant personalities you’ll encounter here aren’t just contributors. They’re characters. Literally. If you’ve ever chuckled at Nikki Nightshade’s sharp wit or been soothed by Mystic Mo’s gentle wisdom, you’ve already met a few of the Wild Within crew.

For me, creating these personas has been a way to embrace sides of myself that don’t always come naturally. While I’m more of an introspective type who loves quiet reflection, these characters let me tap into boldness, sass, and even a little mischief. They’ve become an outlet for my creativity and, honestly, a source of courage. Whether it’s Nikki Nightshade’s diva confidence or Suzie Streamer’s pop culture savvy, each one comes from a part of me—but when they take center stage, they become something bigger.

I think of it like creative play, but with purpose. Much like Tyler Perry or Seth MacFarlane breathe life into unforgettable personas, I inhabit these characters fully, bringing their voices, quirks, and perspectives to life on the page. These characters give me a way to connect with you in ways that feel dynamic, entertaining, and hopefully, a little magical. I may not have all the answers, and I bumble more often than I’d like to admit (my character, Monifa Brown—the in-house queen of mishaps—keeps me company there!), but through these voices, I can explore different perspectives and share stories that reflect a variety of moments and experiences.

A Fresh Take on Fitted Sheets

You know what I’m not a fan of? Wrestling with elastic corners on a fitted sheet. Making the bed is that one chore my energy-limited friends and I unanimously agree is downright exhausting. And yet, fresh sheets feel like such a luxury when you spend so much time in bed.

So here’s my genius idea for linen manufacturers (and maybe Joy Mangano, queen of clever home solutions): let’s Fricking Fix It!

Picture this: no elastic. Instead, four neatly creased corners that drape perfectly over the mattress. To keep them secure, add thin plastic inserts—just enough to weigh down the edges and lock those corners in place. Voila! A sheet that stays ‘fitted’ without the fuss.

Is Joy Mangano listening? (You know, the inventor of the Miracle Mop and Huggable Hangers. If you haven’t heard of her, check out the biopic Joy, starring Jennifer Lawrence. It’s all about turning frustration into invention—just the kind of brilliance we love around here!)
